Stories Matter
When your story resonates with your audience, they’re more likely to engage, trust, and ultimately take action...
While my passion for farming runs deep, my drive to write and share compelling stories is equally powerful.
I don’t even care if it’s weird—I downloaded an app for the sole purpose of extracting the audio from this video so that I could use it as my 3am wake-up alarm.
Strongly recommend!
Every. single. day. I wake eager to face the day. So eager am I to get myself into the office for my allotted writing time.
I’m on fire with ideas. Filled to the brim with creativity and my only limitation is the finite amount of time and energy available on any given day.
Sheep EBook
My first-ever writing gig tasked me with creating a comprehensive guide to raising sheep. Taking this article I’d already written: “Things ‘Ewe’ Should Know About Raising Sheep”, I expanded upon it to create a 120-page ebook. It’s complete with resource and materials checklists, a glossary of terms, and even recommended reading and viewing for continued learning.
I’ve sent it off to my client for review and have been anxiously awaiting their feedback. This is the scary part!
Rebranding
When I’m not writing for the Runamuk-blog, or the Eco-Farm Strategies newsletter, and when I’m not otherwise occupied with my garden-gigs or the farm itself, I’ve dedicated my time to rebranding my professional identity.
This involves updates to the farm’s website at runamukacres.com, establishment and continued improvements of a new author-site at samanthaburnswrites.com, and updates to my many social profiles.
You don’t realize how many “profiles” you have until you go through a rebranding like this.
For example, I have profiles for myself as an individual, profiles for Runamuk, and I new have profiles for my author-self, too. Profiles at Google, Instagram and Facebook, LinkedIn, email signatures need to be updated, too. Bios, about info, links and header images.
It’s tedious, but makes a big impact on your overall online presence, and that directly impacts the success of your business.
By the way—did you see my new profile header here at Substack? I kinda love it!
Storytelling as a Marketing Strategy
I’ve spent a fair amount of time lately working to cultivate new professional connections—trying to convince folks to give story-telling a chance. To give me a chance.
Here are 3 facts about storytelling you might not know:
Storytelling doesn’t just captivate—it converts. Brands that use storytelling effectively can see conversion rates jump by 30%.
64% of people agree—a good story is the bridge that connects brands with customers.
Storytelling is a game-changer for nonprofits! Organizations that tell compelling stories retain 45% of their donors, while those that don’t are stuck at 27%.
When your story resonates with your audience, they’re more likely to engage, trust, and ultimately take action.1
It’s too premature to write about just yet, but I’ve made a couple of good connections recently and I am cautiously optimistic about the opportunities they may bring. Stay tuned for more on that in the not-too-distant future.

Thank you for following along with the story of this lady-farmer! It is truly a privilege to live this life serving my family and community, and protecting wildlife through agricultural conservation. If you found this valuable, please consider Restacking so more people can see it!

Without any fear of contradicting myself, I can safely say that the e-book you mentioned is super good. It’s a great teaching tool for now and for later.
