Thank you to everyone who tuned into my live video!
Let me know what you think of the idea of switching my weekly farm-updates to a video format. It might free up valuable office-time for more articles and how-to pieces!

This week I published the first part in a mini-series about including the whole family in your homesteading efforts (aka: teaching work-ethic).
It's Not "Men's Work" vs "Women's Work": It's Just "Work"
It’s almost dazzling how far humans have come since the time of our early ancestors. Never in a million years would our forbearers have predicted the world we live in today—with automobiles and planes, medicine and scientific study. I wonder: what would they think about our computers and screens everywhere you turn? What would they say about the cell ph…
UPCOMING WORK-PARTY AT RUNAMUK
Saturday, May 17th from 9-1 we will be hosting local volunteers to the farm from 9-1 for a community work-party! Join us for a fun, hands-on community work party at your local farm and conservation center! We have 2 big projects to tackle this spring and we could use a little help from our friends, neighbors and community members!
The Projects:
* Modify our market gardens' fencing to better protect food crops from local deer.
* Trail maintenance in our 40-acre protected forest to keep access open for visitors and campers.
We will divide into 2 groups according to participant interest. The fencing team will be led by Runamuk's own Farmer Sam, while the Trail Maintenance Team will be led by Maine Guide and trail-boss Lindsay Currier of Still Peaking.
This is an opportunity for new homesteaders to learn more about using electric fencing: how to set up high-tensile fence lines and properly ground them for efficient use in keeping livestock. And a chance for local community members to take an active part in protecting wildlife at the grassroots level.
All Jazzed Up!
Springtime is such an invigorating time of year and I am all jazzed up for the season ahead! I’ve got a lot going on and sometimes just trying to stave off a panic attack by making a list and putting one foot in front of the other. Maybe I suck at videos, but maybe if I keep trying I’ll get better?
No matter how you subscribe, I thank you for reading.
Let’s keep growing, together.🌱
Sending love and good juju to you and yours.
Your friendly neighborhood farmer,
Sam
